The Swiss Army Knife of Decarbonization

After a very successful first installment of our new series InnovationTalks, 10 November’s session saw Prof. Dr. Götz Veser from the University of Pittsburgh give around 200 employees a compressed (no pun intended) but extensive overview of the basics of the chemical element Hydrogen. Having been all over the media for some time now, hydrogen, its applications and pitfalls are often not well understood by the general public. Professor Veser happily shed some light on the matter for us! Preceded by a quick glance of Prof. Veser’s chosen home Pittsburgh which highlighted the industrial and historical parallels to Bochum, the presentation covered three areas: What is hydrogen, how do we produce it and how do we use it?  Followed by a question round with some very detailed queries, the attentive audience saw Prof. Veser receive a little present, something he welcomed warmly!
