Volkswagen Infotainment Supports Local Organizations!

Volkswagen Infotainment celebrated its 7th birthday on 5 August. Our company with its main office in Bochum has a much longer history, however: Nokia, over the BlackBerry Development Center to the 2014 integration into the Volkswagen family as Volkswagen Infotainment. We are a connectivity and automotive software pioneer. Our close connections to Bochum and Wolfsburg are an important success factor for us as a company. We consider ourselves as a part of a dynamic, integrative society. At the request of our employees, we will forgo this year’s company birthday present. Rather, we will make a donation of 50,000 Euros in support of the victims of the 2021 flood catastrophe. The aid initiative NRW hilft will receive a 20,000 Euro-donation. However, in our drive to support the victims, local organizations have particularly drawn our attention, following an appeal by the City of Bochum. Just like VWIF, local organizations draw people together. They constitute an indispensable building block of public life. To underline our kindred spirits, we will donate 5,000 Euros to six local organizations each. Bochum Mayor Thomas Eiskirch is happy at this sign of solidarity for the stricken organizations: “Local organizations are an important part of societal life. Without them, things would look very different. I therefore wish to convey my gratitude to Volkswagen Infotainment and its employees for their heart-warming support of local Bochum organizations that were hard-hit by the floods.”
